About the HCSB
Bible translation is a bridge that brings God’s Word from the ancient world to the world today. Believing that the Bible is God’s authoritative, uniquely inspired revelation of Himself, Holman Bible Publishers has created the Holman Christian Standard Bible® with utmost respect for the original wording of the sacred writings. For that reason, we also believe the HCSB to be the most accurate English translation available today. As such, it should be in the Bible study “toolbox” of every believer and teacher of the Word.

Quotes
Dear Mr. Baird,
Greetings. My name is Scott and I am a Registered Nurse and an ordained minister. I am also currently studying for the clergy in the Reformed Episcopal Church.
The reason I am writing is, I have just started a new blog and I wish to feature the Holman Christian Standard Bible in any references and quotes. I am writing to obtain permission to use the HCSB in this way.
I'll be honest, Mr. Baird, I was previously a devoted ESV person until I discovered the HCSB. I grew up with the old KJV, then went to the NKJV (never liked the NASB which we were forced to use in Bible college OR the NIV which I felt forced to much slanted theology on me). From the NKJV I then migrated to the ESV. But when I read the HCSB for the first time I literally "bonded" to it like I never had done with any of the other translations. I have, on occasion, tried to go back to the ESV but it just does not "speak" to me anymore. I think I can fairly say (and I have told my whole family) that I have simply fallen in love with the HCSB translation.
I would like your permission to use exclusively in my blog the HCSB. I want to quote it and promote it. I would like permission to put your logo on my blogsite, if I may, to help get the word out about this beautifully done translation. The blog will contain different types of articles: my thoughts, quotations from famous Christian authors and theologians, and touching on various topics from apologetics to soteriology.
I have purchased the HCSB 2 edition electronic from WordSearch and the changes that I have seen so far have made this wonderful translation even better. I did prefer "...the Lord declares" instead of "[This is] the Lord's declaration" and was hoping they would change that, but I can live with it. I am anxiously awaiting the hard copy release of the Second Edition. Any word yet when this might take place?
Again thanks, for your time and for this translation.
