B&H PUBLISHING GROUP REACHES OUT TO THE VISUAL GENERATION WITH UNPRECEDENTED ELECTRONIC MARKETING CAMPAIGN

NASHVILLE – B&H Publishing Group’s Holman Bibles division has long been revered as one of the Christian publishing world’s most respected Bible publishers. Now it will be regarded as much more than just a Bible powerhouse, but a pioneering force behind the innovative marketing tactics of the future. In honor of the release of The Holman Student Bible—the first and only full-color student Bible to revolutionize the way young people read and understand the Bible—comes a cutting-edge promotional campaign designed to reach the Visual Generation exactly where they are: on the Web.

Leveraging the explosion of video on the Web and popular social networking sites, B&H Publishing Group is producing a series of original weekly video episodes geared toward high school and college students to run on its new Internet video blog, Holman TV (www.HolmanTV.com).  Launching on May 14, Holman TV will feature 3-5 minute long segments following the lives of 20-somethings “Holman” and “Gigi” as they make their way in and around Nashville, searching for a break in the music industry.

Designed to entertain and educate students, Holman TV’s short videocasts capture the grassroots media style that is so indicative of the very social networking and video sites the episodes are slated to appear on, including YouTube, MySpace, and FaceBook. Rather than directly promote The Holman Student Bible, the featurettes are designed to draw the Bible’s target audience into their fun, relevant storylines and guide them to www.HolmanTV.com where they can access the latest video episodes as they release, check out profile pages on Holman TV personalities Holman and Gigi, and learn more about the Bible if they are interested.

“We’re going where our audience is already active—online,” says Steve NeSmith, Director of E-Business, B&H Publishing Group.  “We’re not just selling them a product, but rather integrating into their community.  It’s a lot more work than a traditional campaign, but it’s also a whole lot more fun.”

In addition to developing microsites and distributing the weekly videocasts on networking sites like YouTube, MySpace, and FaceBook, a special effort is being made to link and promote www.HolmanTV.com to student ministries and their respective websites.  With significant marketing budget for The Holman Student Bible being devoted to support these electronic initiatives, B&H Publishing Group is relying on the power of the Web to not only get its message across to its target market, but help pave the way for a new era in innovative Christian marketing.
