Official Sweepstakes Rules:

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.  Non-Purchase Entries and Purchase Entries have an equal chance of winning.   You have not yet won any prize. 

Eligibility: 

Must be legal United States resident (excl. Puerto Rico).  Must be 21 years old or older at time of entry.  Employees of publishers or 2005 International Christian Retail Show exhibitors are ineligible as contest is open only to retailers and distributors.  Individuals or companies that are not book retailers or book distributors are ineligible. Employees of Broadman & Holman Publishers, LifeWay Christian Resources, advertising and promotion agencies, and any other individual or company involved in the development or execution of this promotion and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are ineligible. Grand Prize Winner is subject to proving eligibility, including verification of social security number.   If Grand Prize Winner cannot furnish verifiable and valid proof of age within 48 hours after being notified of winning, alternate winner may be chosen from among all remaining eligible entries received, in Broadman & Holman’s sole discretion.  ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS APPLY.  VOID IN RHODE ISLAND AND WHERE PROHIBITED.

How To Enter: 

Automatic entry with purchase by book retailers and/or book distributors at the Broadman & Holman Booth (Booth #11015) at the 2005 International Christian Retail Show between the dates of July 11-14, 2005. Automatic entry with purchase order placed with Broadman & Holman Publishers by book retailers and/or book distributors during the Promotional Period. Or, book retailers and/or book distributors may mail completed form printed from www.BroadmanHolman.com or print name, store/company name, address, telephone number, email address (if available) on a 3x5 card and the words “Broadman & Holman 2005 ICRS Cruise Giveaway” and mail to Broadman and Holman Publishers, Trade Book Marketing Dept., 127 Ninth Avenue North, Nashville, TN 37234-0143.  Mail entries must be postmarked by July 14, 2005 and received by July 21, 2005.  All other entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. (CDT) July 14, 2005. Limit one (1) entry per person regardless of entry method during Promotional Period.  Subject to eligibility requirements. All entries become the property of the Sponsor.  All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.  Broadman & Holman Publishers (sometimes referred to herein as “Broadman & Holman” or “Sponsor”) urges potential contestants to refer to the sweepstakes rules info before entering any of our sweepstakes or contests.  Additional restrictions may apply.

Timing: 

The Sweepstakes will start at or around 12:01 A.M. (CDT) on July 11, 2005 and end at 11:59 (CDT) on July 14, 2005 (the “Promotional Period”). 

Prize:

One (1) Grand Prize Winner: Only one prize will be awarded.  One grand prize winner (“Grand Prize Winner”) will win one (1) cruise package for two (the Grand Prize Winner and his/her guest) valid year-round for a 7 or 8-day cruise on Carnival Cruise Lines with options departing from Miami, Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, New Orleans, Galveston, Los Angeles, and San Juan.  Grand Prize Winner and guest must travel together.  Meals, parking, gratuities, taxes and other expenses not specified herein are the sole responsibility of the Grand Prize Winner and the Winner’s guest.    Transportation to and from the port of call and all expenses not specified herein are the sole responsibility of the Grand Prize Winner and Winner’s guest. 

Travel must be booked no later than November 30, 2006.  Travel must be booked by CruiseDirect.com only or as otherwise provided for specifically on Grand Prize Winner’s prize travel certificate.  Unused certificate for travel or unused travel credit on that date will be forfeited and no further compensation will be given.  Travel is Subject to Availability.  Restrictions Apply.  Any deviation in travel, hotel accommodations or cruise package is entirely at the expense of the Grand Prize Winner and Winner’s guest.  All Federal, state and local taxes and other taxes, and insurance costs, if any, related to the prize are the Grand Prize Winner’s sole responsibility. 

Approximate retail value of prize package is $2315.  No assignment, cash substitute or transfer of prizes by Grand Prize Winner will be permitted.  Prize will be shipped to Grand Prize Winner between September 1, 2005 and October 1, 2005 to the mailing address supplied on the Grand Prize Winner’s sweepstakes entry form. 

The Grand Prize Winner must sign (a) an affidavit of eligibility and release of Sponsor and its affiliates from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action for personal injury and/or damage, theft, or loss suffered in connection with this promotion or the use, possession or acceptance of the Grand Prize or any portion thereof to be eligible for the Grand Prize; and (b) where permitted, a promotional release granting the right to use his or her name and likeness for advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation. Entry in this Sweepstakes constitutes each potential Grand Prize Winner's agreement to sign such release(s). The Grand Prize Winner must also complete all legal documents and return them to Broadman & Holman within two (2) business days after receipt of such documents. Noncompliance will result in disqualification of the Grand Prize Winner, and an alternate winner may be selected from among all remaining eligible entries, in Broadman & Holman's sole discretion. The receipt by the Grand Prize Winner of any of the prize components of this Sweepstakes is conditioned upon compliance with any and all federal, state and local rules and regulations. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY THE GRAND PRIZE WINNER (AT BROADMAN & HOLMAN'S SOLE DISCRETION) WILL RESULT IN SUCH WINNER'S DISQUALIFICATION AS WINNER OF Broadman & Holman 2005 ICRS Cruise Giveaway SWEEPSTAKES AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.

Drawing: 

One (1) Grand Prize Winner will be selected by random drawing by Broadman & Holman Publishers on or around August 1, 2005 from all eligible entries.  Odds of winning depend upon the total number of eligible entries received.  No substitutions, transfers of the prize package or cash alternative permitted, except by Broadman & Holman Publishers.   Broadman & Holman Publishers reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.  The Grand Prize Winner will be notified by telephone and/or email.  Broadman & Holman will make no more than two (2) attempts to call and email the potential winner over a forty-eight (48) hour period.  Upon notification, the potential winner must confirm identity and eligibility, by signing and returning via facsimile an affidavit of eligibility within two (2) business days of initial contact. If any potential winner(s) is unreachable, or if there is no response from any potential winner(s) (no voicemail will be left), an alternate winner may be chosen at Broadman & Holman’s sole discretion. If an alternate winner is chosen, he/she will be selected randomly from the remaining eligible entries.

General Conditions: 

By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these rules. All interpretations and decisions under these official rules by Sponsor are final. Grand Prize Winner's acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for Sponsor and LifeWay Christian Resources and their respective agencies to use the Grand Prize Winner’s and guest’s  names, photographs, likenesses, statements, voices, biographical information and addresses (city & state only) in all media worldwide, and for advertising and promotional purposes, without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.  Broadman & Holman reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes or the BroadmanHolman.com website; to be acting in violation of the Official Rules; or to be acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A PARTICIPANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR TO UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. THE TENNESSEE COURTS (STATE AND FEDERAL) SHALL HAVE SOLE JURISDICTION OF ANY OF THE CONTROVERSY REGARDING THE SWEEPSTAKES, AND THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE SHALL GOVERN THE SWEEPSTAKES. EACH ENTRANT WAIVES ANY AND ALL OBJECTIONS TO JURISDICTION AND VENUE IN THOSE COURTS AND HEREBY SUBMITS TO THE JURISDICTION OF THOSE COURTS.

Liability: 

Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing, the offering, or in the announcement of the prize. Sponsor is not responsible for late, incomplete or incorrect entries.  Sponsor is not responsible for any electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties or any kind, including without limitation, server malfunction or human error which may occur in the process of recording entries.  Sponsor not responsible for delayed, cancelled or rescheduled travel due to weather, transport/accommodation decisions, overbooking, acts of God or acts of terrorism or any other factor beyond Sponsor’s control.  Sponsor does not warrant or represent that condition or safety of any prize is fit for a particular purpose or use and any warranty, express or implied, is hereby excluded and disclaimed, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.   If, for any reason, the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Broadman & Holman which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes or for any reason Sponsors deem it necessary, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes. Should the Sweepstakes be terminated prior to the stated expiration date, Broadman & Holman will post notice on BroadmanHolman.com and conduct a random drawing from among all eligible entries received as of the date of termination to determine the Grand Prize Winner. Entries that have been tampered with or altered are void.

Release:

BY PARTICIPATING, ENTRANTS RELEASE SPONSOR, PROMOTIONAL/ADVERTISING AGENCIES AND THEIR AFFILIATES, EMPLOYEES OFFICERS, DIRECTORS FROM AND AGAINST ANY INJURY, DAMAGE, CLAIM AND ACTION ARISING FROM SWEEPSTAKES OR POSSESSION/USE OF ANY PRIZE IN ANY RESPECT.  GRAND PRIZE WINNER, BY ACCEPTANCE OF PRIZE, FURTHER AGREES TO RELEASE BROADMAN & HOLMAN PUBLISHERS, LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN RESOURCES, THEIR WHOLESALERS AND DISTRIBUTORS, ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION AGENCIES, AND ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL OR COMPANY INVOLVED IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS PROMOTION FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURIES, LOSSES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND CAUSED BY THEIR PARTICIPATION OR RESULTING FROM ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, USE OR MISUSE OF ANY PRIZE.
