B&H New Releases Catalog (pdf)

B&H Trade 2010-11

B&H Trade Books 2010-11 (pdf)

Frank Ordaz, illustrator of B&H Publishing Group's 2005 release, Josie’s Gift, was chosen as the featured artist for the Annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House this year.  Given this opportunity, Ordaz created promotional items for the Easter event, and had the honor of visiting the White House as a guest of the Bush family.

Ordaz has established himself as a premier American illustrator through his acclaimed talent and experience.  In addition to his work for the White House, Ordaz has also been commissioned by the Smithsonian Institute.  After seeing the cover for Josie’s Gift, the Smithsonian asked Ordaz to illustrate The Star Spangled Banner as a piece for their collection of “great American songs.”

Ordaz’ sculptured drawings in the Christmas tale, Josie’s Gift, reveal his talent for detailed expression; and the precise depiction of the Depression-era setting manages to flawlessly unite a dim atmosphere with a luminous tone.  Combined with a heart-warming story, Ordaz’ art sparks a warm glow that could very well make Josie’s Gift a holiday classic.

This award-winning illustrator has also painted at George Lucas’s Industrial Light and Magic where he worked on such Academy Award winning films as E.T., Return of the Jedi, and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.  Ordaz has illustrated children’s books that include The Very First Easter and won an ECPA Gold Medallion Award for his illustrations in The Very First Christmas.
