Broadman & Holman now called B&H Publishing Group
(
The B&H Publishing Group is an umbrella for areas that include academic, children, educational, Spanish, trade book, church supply product, Bible, and Bible-related product.
According to John Thompson, senior vice president of marketing, the name change is a result of the desire for greater flexibility in how the organization manages its various products and imprints.
Publisher David Shepherd explained that by adding the word ‘Group,’ the division acknowledges other imprints under the publishing banner.
As B&H President Ken Stephens explains, those products include “Broadman Supplies,” “Holman Bibles,” “Holman Reference,” and B&H Español,” and that others will follow such as “B&H Books,” “B&H Academic,” “B&H Educational,” “B&H Kids,” “Holman Interactive,” “Holman Legacy,” “Cornerstone Bible Publishers,” and “TQ.”
“People refer to us more often as ‘B&H’ as shorthand for Broadman & Holman Publishers,” Shepherd clarifies. “There are some who will call us ‘Broadman’ for short, and we would rather they use B&H, so this is one way to establish and encourage that.”
“Overall, the name change will better serve our customers and markets by allowing us to better differentiate our various product lines and grow our business in the various sales channels,” he said.
B&H Publishing Group produces some of today’s most sought after books, Bibles, church supplies and multimedia products. B&H is pleased to announce the release of The Holman Illustrated Study Bible (October 2006) which combines the features of best-selling Holman illustrated reference products into a stimulating study Bible comprising more maps, photos, charts, and illustrations than ever before.
