Aidan is reluctant to have anything to do with The Aidanites, rejecting the thought that he might even remotely be The Wilderking and attempting to refocus the countrymen’s loyalty back on King Darrow, where he believes it justly belongs.  But when astonishing secrets about the history of his homeland and his people are discovered, and Bayard the Truthspeaker reveals that Aidan is destined for great things and must “live the life that unfolds before him,” Aidan fully realizes what he must set out to do.

 

As he quickly trains The Aidanites to become a formidable militia, Aidan works against all odds to reunite the prim and proper civilizers with the repulsive feechies as a single tribe that has been separated for three centuries.  The only fighting chance they have against their daunting enemy, the Pyrthens, is to work as one to reclaim what is, and has been for ages, rightfully theirs.
