B&H Publishing Group Welcomes Karen Ball as Senior Editor of Fiction
Industry veteran has worked with many of today's bestselling Christian novelists
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 2, 2007 - B&H Publishing Group is pleased to announce the addition of Karen Ball to its staff as senior editor of fiction. Ball brings more than twenty-five years of experience to the position and has worked with such bestselling novelists as Karen Kingsbury and Francine Rivers.
Prior to a successful three-year stint as head of fiction at Zondervan, Ball held senior editorial roles at Multnomah Publishers and Tyndale House Publishers. She is also an award-winning author whose published work includes nine novels and several novellas.
“We are thrilled to have Karen joining our team,” said David R. Shepherd, B&H senior vice president and publisher. “Retooling our fiction publishing program has been at the top of my to-do list. I can think of no better way to get started than to have Karen's experience and expertise giving shape and definition to a program that will compete for the hearts and minds of fiction lovers.”
Ball will report to executive editor David Webb, who was tapped last October to lead the new B&H fiction team. Webb said, “Karen has a well-deserved reputation in our field as one of the finest contemporary editors of Christian fiction. She will be a tremendous resource for our authors.”
Among the current stable of B&H fiction authors are Oliver North (New York Times bestsellers Mission Compromised, Jericho Sanction, and The Assassins), Jennifer O'Neill (Circle Of Friends series), Chuck Norris (The Justice Riders), Gilbert Morris (Santa Fe Woman), and Taylor Field whose recent debut novel, Squat, continues to receive stellar reviews from the faith and fiction community.
B&H Publishing Group is known for publishing books by Beth Moore (Praying God's Word) and Henry Blackaby (Experiencing God), as well as the New York Times bestsellers Payne Stewart: The Authorized Biography and the Chuck Norris autobiography Against All Odds. The company's Holman Bible Publishers division, established in 1738, has developed the popular new Holman Christian Standard Bible translation and is the largest United States publisher of Spanish-language Bibles.
