Scripture:
But this is what I commanded them, saying, "Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you." (Jer. 7:23)

Thought:
From the Exodus on, God had one message for His people: be my covenant people by walking in my ways. Israel failed to obey. Through Jeremiah, God had to announce the coming of wrath. Do you believe He will bring wrath if you do not obey His ways?

Prayer:
God of the eternal ways, You have always called Your people to obey. We have repeatedly been stubborn, clinging to our own human ways. I will dare to be different. I pledge my life to an obedient, love relationship with You. Amen.
