B&H Books Audrey Bunny by Angie Smith and Orphan Justice by Johnny Carr Honored with 2014 Outreach Resources of the Year Awards
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (February 28, 2014) B&H Publishing Group is proud to announce that Audrey Bunny (B&H Kids) by Angie Smith and Orphan Justice by Johnny Carr were honored as 2014 Outreach Resources of the Year by Outreach magazine.
For the 11th consecutive year, Outreach magazine is celebrating some of the best outreach-oriented books and curricula by honoring them as Outreach Resources of the Year. These will be highlighted in their upcoming March/April issue. More than 170 resources were submitted for consideration.
Best-selling women’s author Angie Smith (Mended & Chasing God) wrote Audrey Bunny as her first children’s book in which the imperfect stuffed animal Audrey Bunny feels unworthy of love but eventually learns from a little girl that she is wonderfully made and forever perfect in God’s eyes. Audrey Bunny was selected as a winner in the ‘Children’s Outreach’ category. Her upcoming children’s book this fall is For Such a Time As This, which illuminates the perspective of prominent women of the Bible including Eve, Sarah & Hagar, Esther, Mary Magdalene, and more. The Outreach Resources of the Year aim to highlight valuable resources for church leaders and bring deserved attention to resources that can help churches better engage in effective outreach to share the gospel and reach our communities for Christ.
Combining biblical theology and a personal journey with the latest social research, Orphan Justice moves readers from talking about global orphan care to actually doing something about it. It is filled with practical ways churches and individuals can make a difference for orphans locally and internationally. Orphan Justice was selected as a winner in the ‘Justice’ category.
Angie Smith is the wife of Todd Smith (lead singer of Dove Award winning group Selah), Women of Faith speaker and author of her latest Chasing God, I Will Carry You, What Women Fear, and Mended. She is one of the most popular speakers and blog writers in the country. She holds a Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology from Vanderbilt University and lives with her husband and daughters in Nashville, TN. www.angiesmithonline.com
