HCSB Marine's Bible: Burgundy

The Bible might be called a library of freedom - not just temporal freedom but enduring freedom in the truest sense of that expression. Horace Greeley, founding editor of the New York Tribune, said “it is impossible to mentally or socially enslave a Bible-reading people.”

For these perilous times, for the men and women who serve the cause of freedom around the world, Holman Bible Publishers is pleased to provide the entire Bible in a format that is handsome, easy to carry, and that is designed to meet the specific needs of those who serve in the most difficult of situations.

    Mar 5 2005 7:41PM  Great Bible for a Marine.
I wish I had this Bible when I served in Desert Storm. As a Marine Corps Veteran, I would tell every Marine serving now to get this Bible. I really liked The Marine's Prayer and the Lord's Prayer For The Military Wife. When I saw this Bible I had to buy it. Semper Fi.

Oct 4 2004 4:46AM  One of the best evangelism tools I have had the pleasure to take to the field.
I am a Chief Warrant Officer with the United States Marine Corps. I have been through countless pocket Bibles. Usually the type provided for free by the Chaplain's Corps. The type that include the Old and New Testament have been bulky and tend to fray after only a couple of days. The type that only include the New Testament are very good tools when presenting the good news of salvation, but aren't effective when providing younger Marines with life lessons and Bible study.
My mother sent me this pocket Bible for my birthday this year and I actually cried. I had just been talking with a fellow Marine just days before about the type of Bible I would really enjoy carrying around. I had no idea that one was already on the way. God has a purpose, doesn't he?
Sharing from this Bible has been a ministry of its own...I couldn't relate to you the interest other service members have shown when they see my Marine's Bible with the United States Marine Corps seal on the cover.
May God's hand of protection be upon all of our deployed service member's and may the gospel message be spread throughout the world, wherever we may deploy, so that others can find peace and love in a world of sin and strive.
    Semper Fidelis,
