Session 1
The Reality: Everything Is Broken (29:00)

Author and pastor Matt Chandler explains how sin entered God’s perfect creation and introduced chaos. As a result, we often seek to fix things by running to ourselves, others, the world, and religion. But only the good news of the gospel can set things right.

Session 2
The Remedy: Our Hope in the Gospel (29:00)

Because of the fall, people have a basic heart problem that expresses itself in sin. Human efforts at dealing with symptoms can never heal the root issue. Author and pastor Matt Chandler shows how only the power and grace found in the gospel can make us clean.

Session 3
The Response: Faith & Repentance (32:00)

Author and pastor Matt Chandler states that the fruit of faith is repentance. He describes worldly grief as a destructive response to sin, leading to death. In contrast, godly grief leads to repentance, salvation, and a life without regret.

Session 4
The Result: Justification & Adoption (30:00)

When we embrace salvation in Jesus Christ, God bangs the gavel and declares us innocent. Author and pastor Matt Chandler points out that the moment we’re justified, we’re also adopted. We don’t just have a righteous Judge; we also have a loving Father who delights in us. The Holy Spirit testifies to our spirit that we are children of God.

Session 5
Growing in Holiness: Sanctification (33:00)

Sanctification requires grace-driven effort, author and pastor Matt Chandler teaches. To grow in holiness, we pursue the Lord by setting our minds on things above, getting our minds off things below, and letting Him renew our minds.

Session 6
Knowing Our Brokenness: Free from Shame (32:00)

Author and pastor Matt Chandler explores the ways guilt and shame interact in our lives. When we accept that justification takes care of our guilt and adoption takes care of our shame, we’re free to let God replace false self-ideals with what’s true, right, and good.

Session 7
Trusting God’s Goodness: Free from Fear (29:00)

When sin entered the world, all that was peace and prosperity became death and decay, fear and anxiety. Author and pastor Matt Chandler emphasizes that when we’re reconciled with God, we get God Himself. We can trust Him to rule and reign in our lives for our good.

Session 8
Continuing Healthy Cycles: The New Self (29:00)

Author and pastor Matt Chandler explains that when we were dead in our sins, we were objects of God’s wrath. Now that we’ve been made alive in Christ, the roots of our sin are constantly being pulled up. We renounce our former ways as God reroots us in our new nature, giving us victory over sin and allowing us to bring glory to Him.

Session 9
Experiencing Grace: Love & Confession (32:00)

The love of God, made manifest for us in Christ, motivates us in how to live our lives. Highlighting the need to seek reconciliation in our relationships, author and pastor Matt Chandler offers guidelines for confessing our sins to God and others.

Session 10
Making Peace: Confronting Sin (30:00)

Author and pastor Matt Chandler warns that bitterness grows in our hearts when we can no longer absorb or overlook an offense. But bitterness is uprooted when we take steps toward reconciliation. The more we’re willing to love one another, admit our sin, and seek reconciliation, the more robust and deep the community of faith becomes.

Session 11
Pursuing Joy: The Abundant Life (33:00)

Meaningful life is found in being connected to the Son of God. Author and pastor Matt Chandler emphasizes that when we walk into sin, we’re believing the promise that sin offers. Unlike the promises of our flesh, however, God is able to accomplish and fulfill the promises He makes to His children.

Session 12
Sharing Hope: Light of the World (32:00)

Author and pastor Matt Chandler declares that the light of the gospel is the only source of true hope. Freedom from darkness comes to those who know they’ve rebelled against God, are heartbroken in their sin, and have cried out to the Father in spiritual bankruptcy. And God commands us to spread this life-changing message as a people marked by love, compassion, patience, mercy, and hospitality.
